Community Consultation

Community consultation is a major component of our work at SHS Consulting.  Whether part of comprehensive policy studies or undertaken as stand-alone assignments, incorporating input from key stakeholders and the community at large plays a major role in virtually all of the work carried out by SHS.  Consultation takes the form of face-to-face/telephone interviews, focus groups, workshops, public meetings, email/telephone/mail surveys, and other forms of contact, discussion and feedback.  Consultation activities have been carried out at the local, provincial and national scale.

  • Community Forum on Engaging the Markham Community in Meeting the Need for Affordable Housing, Markham Interchurch Committee for Affordable Housing (2011) 
  • Consultation with Community Stakeholders in the Preparation of Housing Strategies (1999-Present) 
  • Development and Implementation of Consultation Process with Staff, Clients and Community Agencies for the Community and Health Department’s Multi-Year Plan, Region of York (2009)
  • Development and Implementation of Consultation Process with National and Provincial/Territorial Housing Departments/Agencies, Private and Non-Profit Housing Sector Associations, Affordable Housing Providers and Housing Advocates as part of Evaluation of Affordable Housing Initiative, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (2008/2009)
  • Development and Implementation of North East Ontario Community Consultation Process for Study of Senior Citizen Housing Options, North East Local Health Integration Network (2008)
